They befriend their rich neighbor’s grandson Laurie and play and go on picnics together and go on with their lives as children. Each sister has a different personality and has her ambitions and dreams. The story is set in a time where women were not considered equal to men and were only believed to be capable of doing household chores but the four beautiful sisters did not believe in this notion and worked hard to prove their place in this world.
